Public works staff told the board July 21 that contractors have started milling and paving on Clifty Drive and are completing sidewalk work at the Michigan Road corner. Chris said crews have combed lanes and begun milling, and that two milling machines will be in operation for a period to speed paving east toward the park and the roundabout. He said the project is expected to progress into sections approaching the roundabout and that the most deteriorated sections where the Walmart entrance meets Ivy Tech Drive may need temporary full reconstruction that will necessitate short-term closures and detours.
Wilson Avenue work is also progressing: staff reported culvert replacement is underway and paving will follow; the project is still targeted to be open before the start of the school year.
