Inclusion and Adaptive Living Commission shifts meetings to third Wednesday through December

The Inclusion and Adaptive Living Commission voted unanimously to change its meeting schedule for September through December to the third Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. The motion passed after commissioners discussed conflicts with the city—s City Manager recruitment schedule and several members— recurring work commitments. The change covers the September, October, November and December meetings; commissioners said they plan to return to the previous meeting cadence in January. Commissioners sought to avoid the City Manager interview dates (multiple in-person panels and room use were cited) and noted that November 26 and December 24 fall on holidays that could affect attendance. There was discussion about alternative weekdays (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Mondays and Fridays were briefly considered) and whether to hold meetings fully virtual during the City Manager recruitment in September. Because several commissioners and staff had standing conflicts on certain weekdays, the commission settled on the third-Wednesday schedule for the rest of the year and approved the motion by voice vote, with the chair announcing a unanimous aye. The commission also agreed that staff would circulate the updated calendar and that individual commissioners should notify staff of any continued conflicts so meeting logistics can be finalized.
