Board approves $408,000 transfer to 911 operating budget for paging and vendor increases

Morgan Harris, the county’s 911 director, asked the board July 21 to approve shifting $408,000 from the Emergency Telephone System Fund balance into the center’s operating budget. Harris said the money will pay for an automated voice‑dispatch module that will work with a newly deployed 800 MHz paging system and to cover an increase passed through from the county’s radio vendor.
Deputy director Zach Alexander and Operations Manager Tina Parker attended with Harris. Commissioners discussed project complexity and commended the 911 staff for the paging rollout. The board voted to approve the fund transfer as requested.
