At its July meeting the Trussville Board of Education approved the personnel report, which included multiple resignations, transfers and recommendations for employment, and ratified a minor organizational-chart change in the Teaching & Learning department.
Why it matters: Personnel actions determine staffing for classrooms and student services for the coming school year; the organizational change consolidates instructional and testing support responsibilities and makes staffing adjustments at the supervisory level.
The personnel report presented to the board listed five resignations, one supplemental resignation, three recommended transfers, four recommended schedule changes, a recommended leave of absence, a recommended long-term substitute, academic and support supplements for the 2025—26 school year, and one volunteer coach recommendation. The board voted to accept the personnel recommendations by voice vote.
Separately, district leaders proposed a single, minor change to the organizational chart in Teaching & Learning: previously the department had split support by K—5 and 6—12. Kelly McGue will continue supporting teaching, learning and testing; Tiffany Hamilton has moved into a building principal role at Magnolia. Staff said they are in the process of interviewing for a supervisor of student services. The board approved the amended organizational chart by voice vote.
Discussion only: board members praised building principals for recruiting and filling positions and noted the challenge of staff turnover when employees accept positions closer to home. Direction/assignment: staff will continue interviews to fill the supervisor of student services role and will implement the organizational changes for the upcoming school year.
