Abiding Shepherd Lutheran Church’s permit application for the Holy Hustle 5K/10K on Sept. 13 was approved July 21 after village staff reviewed comments from police, EMS and public works. Police noted the route will require lane closures on portions of West Cottage Grove Road and staffing for key intersections, especially at Southern Grange and West Cottage Grove Road. Chief/Police staff said last year the event required one officer and had no incidents; village officers recommended message boards and advance business/resident notification.Public works and police asked the organizer to notify affected businesses and residents along West Cottage Grove Road because outside lane closures will affect driveway access and commerce. The board voted to approve the permit with the conditions included in staff comments and local public‑safety coordination.
