The Village Board approved a site plan on July 21 for reconstruction of Well No. 2 at 205 Dunn Street. Staff described the existing building as decades old with interior corrosion, inadequate HVAC and fenestration, and chemical storage arrangements that do not meet modern safety expectations. Village engineer Josh told the board that the well hole and pump have not had a full bore rehab for roughly 20 years and that the well’s pumping capacity could be restored or modestly improved during the planned work.The proposed plan replaces the existing structure with a compact building designed to house separate chemical rooms for chlorine and fluoride, separate exterior doors for chemical rooms, updated HVAC and secure fenestration, and an external standby generator. Landscaping and site setbacks were revised to meet village ordinances; staff said the new building footprint is the smallest practical footprint that meets operational and code requirements. Trustee Murphy moved approval of the site plan and Trustee Dahl seconded; the board approved the plan by voice vote. Staff noted that a prior packet item mistakenly included a Davis‑Bacon boilerplate, which was removed and is not required for the project.
