Later in public comment, resident Howard Sprow criticized the village’s sustainability spending and requested a formal cost‑benefit audit. “A recent board presentation announced $4,700,000 has been devoured to date with an additional 1 hun 1,000,000 allocated this fiscal period,” Sprow said; he asked staff to produce analysis showing concrete budget, quality‑of‑life and environmental benefits. The mayor asked staff to take the request under advisement.
No board action was taken; trustees and staff said they will coordinate with the Sustainability Committee and provide an update to the board.
