Prosecutors said officers responded to an Aug. 1 domestic disturbance at 4124 East Tanner Road in Ellenwood, where a complainant, identified as Kerry Long, reported Long struck him twice in the face and chest; a security guard observed the strikes, the state said. The state recommended 12 months with 23 days credit for time served, continued mental‑health treatment, a HIPAA waiver for probation to monitor treatment, and no contact with Kerry Long except as needed for court‑related matters such as divorce or custody proceedings. Defense requested suspension of supervision fees and permission for Long to report to probation by phone and mail because she lives in Columbia, South Carolina. Probation had no objection to phone reporting and the judge suspended supervision fees. The judge accepted the plea, explained reporting requirements, and instructed probation intake staff to assist Long in setting up phone/mail reporting and treatment coordination.
