Committee recommends Northway Fence for Freistadt Field and Kinneberg Park upgrades

Parks staff asked the General Government & Finance Committee to recommend awarding a contract to Northway Fence Company to replace backstops, add overhangs and replace fencing and dugouts at Freistadt Field and Kinneberg Park.
Gil Standridge, who presented the request, said the 2025 capital budget included $43,000 for the improvements and that three bids were received. He recommended Northway Fence at $41,450; staff said the work will include a new backstop, approximately 145 feet of chain-link replacement at Freistadt Field and new dugouts with sun-shade material at both Freistadt and Kinneberg.
Trustees asked for location clarification (Freistadt Field is at Firemen’s Park and is used by the Germantown Warhawks program) and confirmed the Kinderberg work sits near the pavilion. The committee voted unanimously to recommend awarding the contract; because the amount exceeds the committee’s approval threshold, the contract will go to the Village Board for final action.
Decision: committee unanimously recommended awarding the contract to Northway Fence Company and will forward the recommendation to the Village Board for approval.
