Dalton — The Dalton City Council on July 21 approved a renewal agreement with Top Shelf Food and Beverage Management to operate concessions at several parks and recreation facilities through Dec. 31, 2025, with an auto-renewal provision for one-year terms.
Staff said Top Shelf operates concessions at Heritage Point, Ron Nick Soccer Complex, and Al Rollins Baseball Complex and pays the city 15% of gross revenue from concession operations. The contract can be terminated by either party with 30 days’ notice, allowing the city flexibility should it decide to bring concessions in-house.
City staff said they issued an RFP previously and that Top Shelf was the only respondent to that solicitation.
Why it matters: The agreement supplies concessions service at several recreation facilities and provides a modest revenue share to the city while allowing termination and possible future rebid.
Next steps: Contract renewed through December 31, 2025; staff will monitor performance and may rebid or bring services in-house when appropriate.
