Board accepts inspection agreements, performance bonds and secondary plat for Commerce Pointe

The Board of Public Works and Safety voted to accept and execute documents related to Commerce Pointe, including a sanitary-sewer service special agreement, an earthwork and paving inspection services agreement and a storm and sanitary-sewer inspection agreement. Planning director Joanna Tennell told the board the city has received full payment for the inspection-service agreements.
Joanna Tennell also presented seven performance bonds the developer posted because they chose to record the secondary plat before full construction: earthwork ($4,392), storm sewers/swales/underdrains ($18,389.64), erosion control ($5,149.14), streets ($62,055.60), sidewalks ($20,020.80), survey monuments ($1,207), and street signs ($660). After a motion and second, the board approved acceptance of the performance bonds and then approved the secondary plat.
Mayor Barnett added for the record that Commerce Pointe is the property where a proposed Chick-fil-A would locate once infrastructure and development are complete. The board recorded acceptance to allow the developer to proceed with construction under the city's subdivision and inspection requirements.
