Board approves owner-occupied rehabilitation forms; applications to undergo HUD/DNR review

City staff described the next steps: once the board-approved forms are complete, the applications will enter the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) historic preservation review, which staff said is part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) environmental-review process. After DNR clearance, each house will be bid individually; contractors for plumbing, HVAC, roofs or ramps may be awarded separately depending on the work required.
A staff member identified as Krista provided the procedural update: the next four properties "will go to the home inspector, and then they will go to DNR," and after release from DNR the houses will be bid. A board member who reviews applications in advance (Greg) said he found no issues with the applications presented.
City staff said mayoral signature on contracts will be requested later, after bids are awarded and contracts are ready for execution.
