Defense counsel told the court that the Harris County assault charge was expected to be dismissed and that the defendant tested negative in court; the court noted that an arrest following an earlier bond setting appeared to be the reason the bond was increased. The court asked the county attorney’s office to determine whether the UCW charge would be filed and to report back within two weeks.
The judge did not deny the motion outright but said the court needed the status of the UCW and the Harris County assault before considering a bond reduction. The hearing was continued two weeks for an update; the court also noted that the prior bond had been set at $50,000 before later increases.
