Commission approves consent items including $373,003 in purchase orders and $1.2M in warrants

Weber County commissioners on July 22 approved a consent agenda that included seven purchase orders totaling $373,003.30, warrants and checks totaling $1,204,256.48, three lease amendments, a contract allowing local access to the America250 Utah brand, and ratification of a boiler replacement contract with Harris Mountain West.

County finance presenter Ricky Hatch summarized the purchases and checks. He said roughly $335,000 (about 90% of the purchase-order total) was for ice-sheet building improvements; about $28,000 (8%) was for Golden Spike Event Center concessions. Among checks, Hatch said 17% (about $209,000) was for the county fair (performances, exhibits and events); 13% (about $153,000) related to the children's justice center construction, jail medical wing design, audiovisual equipment and ice-sheet security cameras; two items at roughly 10% (about $120,000 each) included Central Weber sewer impact fees and payment for a WAC director position; 8% (about $100,000) was for IT maintenance; 7% (about $82,000) for health-department pass-through grants; and 5% (about $61,000) for the jail (food, medical supplies). Hatch identified top vendors including Central Weber Sewer Improvement District ($117,000), Staker Parson Companies ($99,000), Stir and Dirt Racing ($75,000), Digital Systems Installations ($66,000) and RoadSafe Traffic Systems ($49,000).

The consent agenda also included approval of business licenses and amendments to leases at 470 20th Fourth Street (suites 201, 203 and 204) and ratification of the boiler replacement contract with Harris Mountain West. The commission approved the consent items on a motion and second; the roll-call vote was unanimous.

No public comment was made during the agenda-related public-comment period; commissioners approved the consent items without substantive discussion.
