The Scottsburg Board of Public Works and Safety voted July 9 to waive the Train Depot rental fee for a mobile office event hosted by the lieutenant governor's office on Aug. 13, 2025. City staff member Emily told the board the city usually offers space at the Mid America Science Park for the lieutenant governor's mobile office, but construction there made that space unavailable. The deputy said the event will provide mobile office hours for residents of Scott County from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A motion to waive the Train Depot fee was made and seconded and carried on a voice vote with members saying aye. The waiver aligns with prior practice of offering space for the lieutenant governor's outreach; no charge will be collected for this event, and staff will coordinate logistics.
