Weber County reduces transfer station tipping fee from $52.24 to $50 per ton

Weber County commissioners approved the final reading of Fee Ordinance 2025-19 on July 22, reducing the transfer station tipping fee for general waste and construction and demolition waste from $52.24 per ton to $50 per ton.
“We are reducing the tipping fee for general waste and construction and demolition waste at the transfer station from $52.24 per ton down to $50 per ton,” county staff member Sean Wilkinson told the commission during the final reading. Wilkinson said the county had previously increased the fee from $50 to $52.24 and, after review, determined it made sense to revert to $50 “to make sure that our operation functions appropriately, efficiently, and in the best interest of Weber County citizens.”
Commissioner Gage Furrer moved approval; Commissioner Jim Harvey seconded. The ordinance passed unanimously by roll call vote with Furrer, Harvey and Chair Sharon Bolos voting aye.
On the record, commissioners thanked Wilkinson and transfer-station staff and noted competitive pressures in the regional waste market. One commissioner said additional staff meetings were planned that afternoon to continue operational work. No amendments to the ordinance were made during the meeting.
