Students behind Fishers Juneteenth Jubilee seek city support after 3,000-attendee event

Student leaders from Fishers High School’s Future Black Leaders club told the council that their Juneteenth Jubilee, organized by students and held at Conner Prairie this year, attracted roughly 3,000 attendees and gave Black-owned vendors a platform.
Tiffany Dittlison introduced the student group and praised their work; student leaders said the event began in 2020 at the amphitheater and moved to Conner Prairie in 2023. Student presenters said Conner Prairie recorded peak attendance during the event and that attendance grew from about 1,500 in 2023 to approximately 2,500 in 2024 and around 3,000 in 2025. Maui Uregui, Jaden Rucker and Gianna Fowler described vendor recruitment, a vetting process for participants and outreach that drew people from surrounding counties and, in past years, neighboring states.
Students asked for city support in promotion — posting the event on city channels and working with schools — and councilmembers expressed appreciation and wished the students well as they move on to college and leadership roles.
No formal council action was requested; council members publicly commended the students’ efforts.
