MSBA site visits scheduled and Hingham High dock ribbon cutting set for Sept. 12, district says

The Hingham School Committee heard facilities updates from Superintendent Katie Roberts indicating that the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) has scheduled site visits in early August related to proposed accelerated roof projects at Plymouth River and South School and a roof/RTU project at Hingham High School. Roberts said the MSBA had received 99 statements of interest across 2025 and 2026 and would review applications at its Oct. 29 meeting.
Roberts said the state allocates an earmark of the sales tax to fund the MSBA program and that the district would be "thrilled to be considered." She said the site visits and the October timeline help the district plan for potential outcomes.
Roberts also reported that the Hingham High dock is nearing completion and the district is awaiting an occupancy permit; a "save the date" in the committee packet lists a dock ribbon cutting for Friday, Sept. 12. The administration thanked the Hingham Sports Partnership for support of the dock project.
Committee members were given the MSBA timeline and told the administration will continue to update the committee as the district awaits MSBA decisions.
