The composite cited the superintendent’s work ethic, communication, community engagement and progress on goals including literacy curriculum work, mathematics instruction improvements, and business and HR office enhancements.
The committee recorded ratings by goal and standard: the professional practice goal was rated "exceeded," the student learning goal (implementation of a K–5 literacy curriculum) was rated "met," and district improvement goals received ratings of exceeded/met across their four subgoals. On the performance standards rubric, the committee rated Roberts "proficient" for instructional leadership and management and operations, and "exemplary" for family/community engagement and professional culture. The combined step ratings yielded an overall "exemplary" designation.
The committee noted that exemplary is not synonymous with perfection and acknowledged areas for ongoing professional growth. Roberts responded, thanking the committee and saying she was "grateful to be in the district" and looked forward to continued work; she also said the summer planning time had helped prepare for the coming year.
A committee member moved to approve the exemplary rating; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote.
