Brookville High renovation progressing; district warns of limited parking and confirms safety measures before school start

Superintendent Dr. Stanley updated the board on school-facilities work at Brookville High School and said the division is monitoring construction closely as the school year approaches. “When you see holes in the floor and dirt and pipes underneath the foundation, it can be concerning when school is starting in three weeks,” she said, but added that construction had progressed and that staff expect to be able to start classes while some renovation continues.

She said the cafeteria at Brookville High is up and running but warned parking will be limited once school opens; parents are asked not to park at nearby businesses and to use buses, carpooling or car-rider options if they cannot find on-site parking. Dr. Stanley said the district may delay planned moves of administrative offices into renovated space if construction timelines require it; the priority is safe facilities and classroom access.

On other facilities, the board heard that a modular unit from Box Modular is scheduled to arrive at Brook Neal Elementary and that connections are lined up to place the unit for classroom use before new teachers begin next week. Trustees praised local volunteers who helped prepare school sites, and principals reported progress on new STEM and manufacturing labs and ticket booths at other schools.
