The West Linn City Council approved, on unanimous consent, an early renewal of the city’s Axon body-worn camera contract as part of the consent agenda at its June 23 meeting.

Councilors moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda; no member requested removal of the Axon item for separate discussion. During the meeting, the mayor and a councilor expressed gratitude to the police department and said the body-worn camera program has been “a big success for our community and police department.”

The renewal was adopted without public comment and with a unanimous roll-call vote recorded by the city clerk. Staff did not read additional contract terms into the record during the meeting; the contract details and duration were not specified on the public motion.
