Cindy Buckhart, president of the Larimer County 4‑H Foundation, told the Larimer County Board of Commissioners on July 15 that the foundation has been denied facility access at the Ranch Event Complex and requested written documentation explaining the denial.
Buckhart said she provided commissioners a notebook of six years of emails and other documentation that, she said, show no violations by the foundation. “Have you even bothered to review the documents I submitted?” she asked during public comment, adding that she could “substantiate every comment made with documentation.”
Buckhart urged the board to either reinstate the foundation’s access to county facilities for events such as the county fair or provide a written statement on county letterhead that the foundation is not welcome at the Ranch Event Complex and the specific reasons why. She said the foundation sponsors a silent auction at the county fair to raise funds for the poultry memorial scholarship and expressed concern the memorial could be affected if the foundation’s access is not restored.
The board did not take action during the public comment period. Commissioner John Kefalas and Chair Kristen Stevens both thanked Buckhart for speaking; no county staff provided an immediate response during the meeting.
