County reports fast building-permit turnaround, flags planning delays and revenue rebound

Rebecca Everett, Community Development director, told the Board of County Commissioners on July 21 that the department met most of its standing performance measures in 2024 but is refining some metrics to better reflect workloads. "We are still sitting close to 100% — we're at 99% — for building inspection requests honored within 24 hours," Everett said. She reported the department's average time in county hands for a residential building permit declined to 12 days in 2024, well below the department goal of 25 days.
