The Lafayette board approved a $348,000 contract with SLB Pipe Solutions for the Prairie Oaks Force Main permanent bypass project and issued a notice to proceed with completion milestones this year.
Brad Talley of Lafayette Renew told the board the work follows an emergency repair on the Prairie Oaks Force Main earlier in the year. "The contract is in the amount of 348,000 and I recommend that for your approval," Talley said. The board approved the contract, then approved a notice to proceed with a substantial completion date of Oct. 22 and final (bridal/final) completion by Nov. 21 of the same year.
Talley noted SLB Pipe Solutions previously worked on the earlier emergency repair as a subcontractor to the prime contractor, and staff said they have experience working with the company. The contract and notice to proceed were presented together and approved by motion, second and recorded voice vote; the transcript records ayes and no opposition.
The transcript does not include details on warranty terms, payment schedule, or subcontracting beyond the staff remark that SLB worked previously as a sub on the emergency repair. The meeting record also does not provide a detailed project schedule beyond the two completion dates the city recorded in the notice to proceed.
