Council approves CDBG and HOME 2025 annual action plan, allocates roughly $1.7 million total

The Lafayette Common Council on June 1 approved the 2025 annual action plan for the City of Lafayette Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the Lafayette Housing Consortium HOME program.
Michelle Reynolds of the Lafayette Housing Authority said the CDBG allocation was $640,832 and, with reprogramming, increased to $695,407. She reported the HOME allocation at $814,549 and, with reprogramming, the HOME total rose to $1,000,006.34. Reynolds said exhibits A and B in the action plan list the award breakdowns, including social services, housing, public facility improvements (CDBG) and habitat and rental activities under HOME.
Reynolds identified programs that would receive funding, including the Fresh Start program and potential historic rehabilitation work pending tax credits. Councilmembers asked whether the funding represented an increase from the previous year; Reynolds said CDBG increased by about $7,000 compared with the prior allocation.
No public comment was recorded on the plan; the council approved resolution 2025-08 by a 7-0 roll call vote.
