The Hammond City Board voted to forward two competing demolition proposals for six city-owned properties to the inspections division for review and tabulation. Board members said the bids cover demolition of properties at 4934 Ash Avenue; 4831 Columbia Avenue; 617โ619 Goslin Street (front); 5217 Homan Avenue; and 964 Summer Street (also referenced as 5614 Howard). The motion sends both bids to inspections for review and recommendation. Staff reported two bidders: Liberty Property Management submitted a package that included a bid proposal, Form 96 and a bid bond but did not include a non-collusion affidavit; their total bid for all properties was $159,000. JM Industrial Services Inc. submitted a bid proposal, Form 96, a bid bond and a non-collusion affidavit; their bid totaled $559,650. A staff member asked that both submissions be reviewed and tabulated by inspections before recommendation. A board member moved to forward the two bids to inspections for review, tabulation and recommendation; the motion carried by voice vote (ayes). The board took no final contract award at the meeting and requested inspections return a recommendation to the board.
