The Hammond Capital Improvement Board on June 16, 2025, approved Change Order No. 1 with Gary Up Construction for the Little Calumet River Pedestrian Bridge in the amount of $56,744.51 to cover corrective items identified during construction.
Commissioner Megan Moore moved the change order and Commissioner Muda seconded; the board approved the item by roll-call vote, six in favor and none opposed. Staff summarized that the change order included a credit for changing a form liner, a credit for reducing the amount of water line replacement, and cost increases tied to undercutting unsuitable soils, among other corrective items as the project moved toward closeout.
Staff said the project remains open and the change order is part of closing out outstanding field issues; no further action was recorded at the meeting beyond approval of the change order.
