Hammond CIB OKs $20,000 contract for FRA grant coordination on Grand Avenue pedestrian bridge

The Hammond Capital Improvement Board on June 16, 2025, approved a $20,000 contract with Crawford, Murphy & Tilly for Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) grant coordination related to the Grand Avenue Pedestrian Bridge project.
Councilman Rakos moved the contract and Commissioner Megan Moore seconded. Board members approved the item 6‑0 on a roll-call vote. Staff said the consultant is already assisting the city with another FRA grant on Governors Parkway and will help manage the Grand Avenue bridge grant coordination.
The vote authorized consultant grant coordination services; no construction authorization or additional project funding was approved at the meeting.
