County commissioners discussed adopting a personnel policy and handbook to standardize human resources procedures and onboarding. Staff said Brent circulated a draft and department heads have the document for review.
A county speaker told commissioners, "Rather than having individual meeting, I think, what we need to do is get that personnel policy, a handbook approved, because that outlines a lot of the things asking on procedures." Another speaker stated a target: "My goal was on July 16. Sixteenth. Okay. Get that approved. Goal is on July 16."
Commissioners asked to preview the document at a workgroup session and requested the latest draft be posted to the county help desk for review. A staff person said Andy would put the latest version on the help desk and staff will circulate the most recent draft to commissioners.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; commissioners directed staff to schedule a workgroup session and prepare the personnel handbook for formal consideration on the July 16 agenda.
