Belton Education Foundation reports $1.4M in assets, $365,500 awarded in 2025 scholarships

Representatives of the Belton Education Foundation presented the group's annual report to the Belton ISD Board of Trustees on July 21, 2025. Ellen Burnett, the foundation's board president, introduced Kim Pimento, the foundation's newly hired executive director, who outlined finances, events and goals. Pimento reported the foundation holds more than $1.4 million in assets; awarded $365,500 in scholarships in 2025 (including awards to graduates from Belton High School and Lake Belton High School); and distributed $124,797 in teacher grants to 36 teachers in 2024. The foundation also reported more than $300,000 in scholarships awarded to 174 students cumulatively to date (as described in the presentation). Pimento said the foundation is a volunteer board with 25 directors, runs multiple fundraising events (including a red-carpet fundraiser and a golf tournament), and has recently hired an executive director to expand donor engagement and campus outreach. The foundation also reported continuing recurring grants to local "grow your own" teacher pipeline programs and plans to improve donor communications, increase scholarship funding coverage and expand social-media outreach. Board members thanked the foundation for its volunteer leadership and requested continued partnership connecting donors to campus needs and scholarship opportunities.
