The Mount Vernon City Schools Board approved an extensive list of personnel items covering certificated and classified staff, supplemental contracts for fall activities, administrative contract addenda and a set of substitute and multi‑year classified employment contracts. Superintendent and personnel staff highlighted several individual changes, including an internal move that will name Kyle Hindens to an assistant principal role and several new hires and rescinded offers aligning with the fall staffing slate. The board also added one late item naming Caitlin McCann assistant cheerleading advisor for both fall and winter; that vote recorded an abstention from Missus Desmond. Trustees approved the personnel slate in a grouped motion on a roll call. Board members praised staff for a “herculean effort” in hiring and preparing for the start of school. The board noted one remaining open third‑grade position that staff expect to interview for before the next meeting.
