The Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education voted to approve an updated administrative handbook after trustees said the changes reflect routine annual and tri‑annual reviews. The handbook, reviewed by administrators and revised as part of a scheduled three‑year review cycle, was approved by roll call following a motion from Mister Golodai and a second from Doctor Bennett. Board members said the update largely continues existing practice while allowing the district to “take a look and bring us a little closer to where we need to be.” The board offered thanks to administrative staff for preparing the document. The motion passed on a roll call that recorded votes in favor from Mister Golodai, Doctor Bennett, Mister Ward, Mister Brookman and Missus Gadsden. No recorded opposition or abstentions followed the roll call. The handbook will be filed and implemented for the coming school year. The board then moved on to curriculum and other agenda items.
