At the July 1 CLB meeting the Cobb County Partnership presented a concept plan for a proposed Smoky Mountain Innovation Park and said it had made the most recent note payment on the industrial park.
The partnership displayed a master concept and said the plan includes a small commercial lot adjacent to an existing car wash intended to generate revenue to support the park. The director said the partnership has responded to requests for information from prospective tenants and that the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and local tourism authorities are supporting signage and promotion. “We did make our note payment on the industrial park this past week, and so we're all squared away on that at least for another year,” Brady said.
