City staff said the parcel was designated as a civic parcel on the Heights at Smyrna site plan and that the purchase price is supported by an appraisal. In addition to the parcel price, staff reported an additional $681,004.72 to be paid for shared site development costs stipulated in the original agreement for the project.
Councilmember Lindley moved to approve the agreements; Councilmember Hines seconded. The motion passed 6‑0.
Staff presentation tied the purchase to the redevelopment of the former Iago church site and said the documents would be executed by the mayor or mayor pro tem.
