Oviedo staff say city evaluating open-checkbook and strategic-planning dashboard; county clerk offered free service

City staff told the Oviedo City Council on July 21 that they are evaluating vendors and planning a phased rollout of a transparency dashboard and strategic-planning software that would include an "open checkbook" ledger, capital budgeting modules and visual dashboards. The project is part of a larger effort tied to the city's strategic plan and budget modernization.
Staff said the city budgeted funds in the last budget cycle for strategic-planning and transparency work and is evaluating firms that offer dashboards, open-checkbook views and capital-project tracking. Mr. Kelly in the city's IT team said the county clerk of the court, Grant Malloy, offered to provide an open-checkbook service to the city at no cost; Mr. Kelly said staff is discussing integration, data transfer and vendor options and expects an incremental implementation starting with the strategic planning module.
The council welcomed the update and staff said they would continue vendor evaluation and report back with scope and timeline recommendations.
