The Board of Public Works and Safety on March 27 approved personnel actions submitted by Chief William Short, including transfers and rank changes in the police department, effective April 15, 2025.

Short’s correspondence listed Officer Walter Peterson to be transferred from the patrol division to the detective bureau, relinquishing the rank of master sergeant and assuming the rank of sergeant; Sergeant Elaine Salazar to transfer from patrol to the detective division; and correctional officers Colin DeVries and Jonathan Phillips to receive promotional raises when eligible.

A board member moved and seconded approval, and the board approved the personnel changes by voice vote. The personnel actions will take effect April 15 pending standard administrative processing.
