Mr. Engle, engineering department representative, described the Talleywash Bridal design as a long-anticipated safety improvement project. Supervisor Howard noted Spencer Udall is a local structural engineer and said the county received a competitive, lower-than-market quote. The board approved the engineering agreement by motion. Supervisors also approved a five-month independent-contractor agreement with JP Drafting and Design LLC to provide drafting support for the engineering department; the item was described as hourly without add-on costs beyond the stated rate.
Both motions were approved by voice vote. Board members praised the use of local professional services and the value of in-house engineering capacity.
