Walworth County board approves multiple zoning rezonings, including 48-acre public-works parcel

The Walworth County Board of Supervisors on June 10 approved four zoning rezonings recommended by the County Zoning Agency, including a 48-acre rezone involving the county public works department.

The rezonings approved were read into the record by staff and carried by the board. They include: a request by Roth Family Land Holdings to rezone roughly 1.271 acres in Section 27, Sugar Creek Township, from A2 to A4 (approved 5-0 by the County Zoning Agency); a request by Joan Coherne to rezone about 40 acres in Section 27, Darien Township, from A1 to M1 (approved 5-0); a request by Jim Wisniewski to rezone approximately 0.11 acres of P1 to C4 and 1.13 acres of P1 to R2A in Section 31, Delavan Township (approved 5-0); and a Walworth County public works parcel in Section 16, Lyons Township, to rezone approximately 48 acres from A1 and R1 to P1 (approved 5-0 at County Zoning Agency public hearing).

Each item was placed on the county board consent calendar, a motion to approve was made and seconded, and the board voted to carry the motion by voice vote.

The board packet notes these items were recommended for approval by the County Zoning Agency following public hearings on May 15, 2025. No additional debate or conditions were recorded in the county board minutes for these items at the June 10 meeting.

The approvals change the official zoning map for the affected parcels and allow the owners and the county to proceed under the new zoning designations. Further local permitting and compliance requirements will apply under county ordinances and other applicable regulations.
