Staff told the board the request must be sent to MDOT for concurrence, and that a more formal public hearing on the final plans is expected in September. Action: The board approved the city’s concurrence with the design-variance requests by motion; staff will forward the request to MDOT and continue public outreach before the formal hearing. Board members requested additional public involvement and staff said they are targeting a September public hearing date, pending MDOT scheduling.
