County engineering staff provided a construction update to the board on July 15, describing concrete paving, curb replacements and utility work on County Road 1 and related local projects.
The county said milling is complete on the concrete sections of County Road 1, most curb replacements in Lester Prairie and Winsted are finished and the contractor hoped to reach County Road 93 if weather and plant operations allowed. The city of Winsted’s water‑main project is partially complete and a plant breakdown briefly slowed paving but the contractor resumed operations overnight, the presenter said.
Staff advised that Ford Avenue south of 18th Street is now under Glencoe city jurisdiction following a turn‑back and that the county has completed patching north of 18th Street. The Hennepin Avenue project is a joint city–county effort; utilities work includes water‑main tie‑ins that require short closures, including a closure at the intersection under Highway 22 to complete a water‑main tie.
Commissioners and staff asked residents to follow posted detours and consult the city website for maps of temporary traffic routing. No formal board action was required; the update was informational.
