The North College Hill City Council voted to table the third reading of Ordinance No. 4, which would authorize the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) to withhold a fee for subpoenas issued to residents for tax-collection purposes and would appoint Sheila Stevens Knott as the city's delegate to RITA. The tabled motion sets the item for the council's next meeting on Aug. 4. Councilmember Underwood moved to table the legislation, and Councilmember Wilson seconded the motion. "I just, I think that we should probably table that piece of legislation," Councilmember Underwood said during the discussion. The motion to table passed on a roll-call vote of 4-0: Underwood, Wilson, Chichester and Zorb voting yes. The ordinance was on its third reading when the council chose not to take final action; no changes to the ordinance language were described on the record. The ordinance, as introduced, combined two actions: the withholding-fee authorization for RITA subpoenas and the appointment of Sheila Stevens Knott as the city's delegate to RITA. The council did not debate the substantive terms of the fee or the appointment in detail before tabling the item. The matter will return to the council agenda on Aug. 4 for further consideration.
