City of Sammamish officials and consultants told residents at a community workshop that the city’s bike and pedestrian mobility plan will produce a prioritized project list and policy recommendations, with a draft expected in mid–late August and planned council consideration this fall. Audrey Sarci, the city’s public works director, said the plan will be incorporated into the Transportation Master Plan and into the city’s six-year and 20-year capital improvement project lists. Wintana Miller, a consultant with DKS, said staff will compile project recommendations after public input and that the adopted plan will feed into the Transportation Improvement Plan and capital budgeting. Lindsey Channing, a city transportation planner, said staff will pursue implementation through the city’s sidewalk gap and non-motorized programs, the school zone safety program, and corridor categories in the CIP. The presentation noted a parallel update to public-works engineering details and right-of-way code that will refine how recommended facility types are built; staff said that standards update will proceed into 2026. The consultants and staff also invited additional public comment and said the workshop was being recorded and will be posted on the project webpage and YouTube for later review.
