At its July 17, 2025 meeting, the St. Tammany Parish School Board unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included adoption of portions of Executive Order JML 24-114 for procurement, three new educational interpreter job descriptions, and the substantial completion of two school facility projects.

The measures approved on the consent agenda included Item D — a resolution adopting portions of Executive Order JML 24-114 "for the purpose of procurement of copyright materials and publications other goods and services"; Items E, F and G — new job descriptions titled educational interpreter, provisional; educational interpreter, qualified; and educational interpreter, highly qualified; and Items H and I — acceptance as substantially complete of Salmen High School female locker room and home-side concessions (project P043535) and Bonnie Cole Elementary School paving repairs (asphalt mill and overlay), each subject to the architect's recommendations, submission of regulatory requirements and approval by Superintendent Jabby.

Board President Green read the consent items aloud and asked for a motion. The board member who moved approval was identified as Mr. Brog; Mr. Cousin seconded the motion. The consent agenda "passes unanimously," the clerk announced.

Why it matters: the procurement resolution clarifies how the district will follow portions of the named executive order in purchasing copyrighted materials and publications; the interpreter job descriptions update staffing classifications for students who require language and communication support; and the acceptance of construction work as substantially complete begins the administrative steps toward final closeout and any remaining regulatory sign-offs.

Details: the Salmen High School project was accepted as "substantially complete subject to architect's recommendations, submission of all regulatory requirements and approval of Superintendent Jabby" and is listed under district project number P043535 in board materials. The Bonnie Cole Elementary paving repairs were likewise accepted as substantially complete pending the same conditions. The job-description approvals were listed separately on the consent agenda as new classifications for educational interpreters at provisional, qualified and highly qualified levels.

The transcript records the board's formal approval of the consent agenda with no recorded public comment or board objections during the vote.
