Board reviews unaudited FY25 figures, completes FOIA requests and approves consent agenda

A district staff member reported to the Board of Education on July 16 that the district is completing its FY25 audit and that the financial figures presented are unaudited. The staff member said the district has received allocation notices for the next school year but does not yet have those dollars in the bank. "These numbers reflect current numbers, not audited numbers," the staff member said. Board members were told the fund balance declined from the prior month as expected when end-of-year payments are processed. The staff member also reported that two Freedom of Information Act requests — from South Cook News and SmartProcure — have been completed. On action items the board approved the consent agenda by roll call (all members voting yes). The consent agenda included the monthly transaction and fund-balance reports for June 2025, the expenditure and projected payroll reports for July 2025, approval of minutes for the June 18 regular meeting and closed session minutes, and destruction of closed-session tapes from March 2021. The board also approved custodian summer help in a separate motion and approved applications for occupancy for mobile classrooms. The board approved a back-to-school bash donation — $500 cash plus funding for two raffle baskets not to exceed a total district contribution of $750 — which will be routed through the district foundation, and added to the consent/consumption schedule. Several motions passed by unanimous roll call.
