Board backs Gurnee Park District zoning map amendment; district seeks municipal water

Richard Plage, identified in the record as a trades/construction supervisor with the Park District, testified during the public hearing that the property has been used in its current condition for more than 30 years and that the Park District seeks connection to municipal water because "our employees can't even drink the water out of the well" and the well system is out of date.
No public opposition spoke during the hearing, and the board moved to recommend approval. A motion recommending the Village Board approve the rezoning was seconded and passed on a roll call vote; the chair announced the motion carried.
