County to switch incident reporting system in January; ESO platform to support transition

County staff informed the Pennsylvania County Fire and Rescue Commission on July 17 that the county’s incident reporting will transition next January from the current National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) feeds to the national electronic reporting standard used through ESO, which will require training for local users.
The staff member reported, "Our reporting system we use now is a NFIRS reporting system, and it's through ESO. This is gonna change in January. We go into what they call a NEMSIS reporting system. That will still work through our ESO, but it's gonna be a change for us and just be looking, we're gonna come up with some training before long so we can get everybody up to speed on the switch over." The county said it will provide training materials and sessions as implementation plans solidify.
