City staff told the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board that the Price Roadhouse construction project drew five bids and is under evaluation by the project manager, Catherine. Director Zach said the number of bidders and the quality of the proposals were “very encouraging.” “Later this month we hope to have it to complete the evaluation and approve one of the bids that were submitted,” Zach said. He explained the procurement followed the city’s public bid process and procurement rules in the city’s revised code and used the Bid Express portal to post documents and receive proposals. Zach described the bid package as comprehensive, containing construction drawings, specifications and equipment details down to faucets and mechanical, electrical and plumbing components. He said Catherine and staff will evaluate compliance and price and recommend an award based on that regulated process. No contract award was announced at the meeting; staff said they expect a follow-up update at the next board meeting after the evaluation is complete.
