A staff member said the prior guideline allowing up to four absences a year “didn’t really align with our, cycle as a committee” and explained the 75% requirement is meant to match the fiscal-year schedule and the committee’s meeting cadence.
Staff asked committee members to note the change and make efforts to meet the new minimum. No vote or disciplinary procedure was discussed at the meeting; staff said they want members to be aware of the new expectation.
Why this matters: sustained participation on advisory bodies affects continuity of committee work and the town’s ability to carry out outreach, code reviews and other multi-meeting projects.
