The Somers Central School District Board of Education approved the superintendent’s recommendation to hire Allison McCaffrey as the district’s full-time public relations coordinator.

Superintendent Adam recommended McCaffrey, saying, “She comes to us with a marketing background and a degree in media and communications arts, with a specialty in public relations.” Adam said McCaffrey’s experience in social media and communications will help the district “present a very clear picture for the community of where we are headed.”

Board members voted by voice to approve the personnel consent agenda that included McCaffrey’s appointment. The transcript shows the chair called for “all in favor” and members responded with “Aye”; Rosalind Gallino, participating by Teams, said “Aye.”

During broader personnel remarks, Adam also noted the district recently oriented new staff, including Tommy Albano, the new director of PE, health and athletics. No salary, start date or employment contract details for McCaffrey were discussed in the meeting.

After the vote the board moved the meeting into executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular person.
