Monroe County commissioners on July 17 approved Ordinance 2025-20 to amend several local traffic ordinances following recommendations from the county Traffic Commission.
County staff said the proposed amendments had been reviewed and approved by the Traffic Commission in June and conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) used in Indiana. The changes amend ordinance 89-01 to add a no-trucks restriction on Ella Road between State Road 45 and Garrison Chapel; amend 86-06 to add stop controls at Clearview Drive at State Drive and Hedgewood Drive; and amend 00-32 to designate a traffic signal location at the intersection of Curry Pike and Constitution Avenue.
Commissioners recorded no public comment and approved the ordinance by unanimous vote.
